A Class of Artists!
Each Monday the boys and girls have art class for an hour. They explore different art mediums and learn about color, texture, lines, and more. Often the art teacher will tie the art project for the day to children's book. All of the artwork created over the year is saved and your child will bring home a portfolio at the end of the year.

Beautiful Fall Days
Jog-A-Thon
Friday was our Bemis Jog-a-Thon! We could not have asked for better weather! The boys and girls had a blast running around the Jog-a-Thon track. They were running, skipping and walking- what a fun way to promote exercise at the same time! We had great music playing and even enjoyed an apple after we were done running. Each child received a free t-shirt for participating. We will wear these t-shirts in the future for field trips! You can turn in your child's Jog-a-thon pledges for a chance to win prizes all next week. There are top runner prizes, most money raised prizes, school wide, grade level and even a special classroom prize. Thanks you to all of the families that came to cheer on our little runners! Enjoy the pictures of our fun day!

Boulan Buddies
Today we met our Boulan Buddies for the first time! At Boulan Middle school children can opt to take an Effective Teens course as an elective. I have been told by their teacher that this is the most requested elective. The middle school students have training at the middle school and then come over to volunteer at Bemis twice a week. In Kindergarten they will be here every Tuesday morning. Students will play learning games with us, projects and assist in centers. Today students played many beginning sounds games with us, helped us spell words, match rhyming pictures, and play a pop it beginning sound game. We had a lot of fun! It is always fun for myself personally because many of the students are former students of mine. Here are a few pictures from time today.
